Young Tunneller of the Year Award

The Tunnelling Association of Canada presents the Canadian Young Tunneller of the Year Award to an individual (e.g., contractor, engineer, owner, supplier) who is 35 years of age or younger as of January 1, 2024 and has made an outstanding contribution to the tunnelling and underground space industry.

In evaluating nominations, judges will look for evidence of the following for the candidate:

  • Driving their team, project or business to technical or commercial success;
  • Delivering beyond the client's expectations;
  • Demonstrating a personal commitment to improving the tunnelling industry;
  • Meeting the specific challenges faced by the industry, their business or their project; and
  • Making a personal contribution to successfully deliver innovative ideas or initiatives, challenge normal practices, or lead major technically complex operations.
The entry must be supported by two independent references, one being the nominee’s employer. The references should include the relationship to the nominee .
