2017 Tunnelling Association of Canada Award Recipients
We are pleased to recognize Boro Lukajic as the 2017 recipient of TAC's Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition to his lifetime of exemplary contributions to tunnelling engineering in Canada, Mr. Lukajic served as TAC President from 1994 to 1998.

Other 2017 TAC Achievement Award winners include:

  • Innovation Project of the Year – Upper Lillooet Hydroelectric Project;
  • Infrastructure Project of the Year – Confederation Line Ottawa LRT; and,
  • Photo of the Year – Confederation Line LRT Multi-Dimensional Underground Space.

2017 Dan Eisenstein Memorial Scholarship
TAC is pleased to announce that Timothy Packulak is the 2017 recipient of the Dan Eisenstein Memorial Scholarship. A 2014 BSc graduate of Queen's University in Geological Engineering, Mr. Packulak is currently in the second year of his Master's program working with Dr. Mark Diederichs at Queen's University. Tim's graduate research focuses on the Canadian Deep Geologic Repository and includes the investigation of rockmass deformation using sophisticated numerical simulation methods for the design of deep underground tunnels and other excavations. Congratulations Tim!

TAC Publication - Canadian Tunnelling Memories and Achievements - Requires Your Pictures and Donations
The Tunnelling Association of Canada is excited to announce that we will be publishing a unique hardcover "Coffee Table" style book this year to highlight the many tunnelling memories and achievements in Canada to date. Member support in the form of picture contributions as well as financial donations are vital to the success of this long-awaited endeavor.
